Crimson Desert has another reason to return to Pywel. Pearl Abyss released Charting the Unknown on October 29, with the expansion available on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox on PC. Xbox Play Anywhere support lets eligible players carry their purchase and progress between those Xbox platforms.
New stories and a larger ocean playground
The DLC adds separate storylines for Kliff, Oongka and Damiane. Its exploration changes include diving and shipbuilding, expanding what players can do beyond land. Romance, stronghold and housing features, plus a boss-rush activity, round out the announcement. Those additions make this a broader expansion rather than a single new quest.
The trial and the DLC are different offers
A five-hour trial runs from October 29 until January 7, 2027. That is a limited opportunity to try the game, not permanent ownership. Charting the Unknown should also be distinguished from August's free Enhanced update: the publisher has not presented this DLC as that same free base-game patch.
